I am a Norwegian composer living and working in LA. Since I was a child I've been humming themes from movies and TV series. I always kept my tape recorder handy so that I could record music from TV or my own ideas that started forming at an early age. I wrote my first composition when I was five and named it "Chinese Dance". Funny, since my fascination with China culminated in me traveling there as a 19-year old back packer. In China I met my American husband-to-be, which later made me decide to move to LA to be with him and to pursue a career in film scoring. So I guess the series of somewhat random events all tied together in the end.
Since my graduation from the USC film scoring program in 2005 I've scored five feature films in very different genres as well as a number of short films and over a hundred commercials. My latest big project was doing the music and sound design for "Rodina", a play created by the Norwegian production company Last Ink. Through this blog I hope to share with you some glimpses of my life in this bizarre city that keeps fascinating and annoying me for various reasons.
